Troop 398 has the opportunity to help prepare headstones at Mountain View Cemetery. Cleaning & placing American flags. 9am to 11am.

COLOR GUARD SERVICE
Troop 398 will participate with Troop 401 & Pack 64 in a color guard presentation at the Memorial Day ceremony at Mountain View Cemetery in Auburn at 10am. Echo Taps will be performed by Troop 398's Dallin Campbell & Brett Anton along with Troop 401's Issac Park. Click HERE for the Memorial Day Ceremony Program.
DECORATION DAY - 1868 - Maj. Gen. John A. Logan
General Orders No 11.
I. The 30th day of May 1868 is designate for the purpose of strewing with flowers or otherwise decorating the graves of comrades, who died in defense, of their country during the late rebellion, and whose bodies now lie in almost every City, Village, and hamlet, church yard in the land. In this observance no form of ceremony is prescribed, but Posts and comrades will in their own way arrange such fitting services and testimonials of respect as circumstances may permit.

Auburn's Mountain View Cemetery hosts a special Memorial Day ceremony at 10 a.m. Monday.
The public is invited to attend the ceremony in the flag plaza at the cemetery, 2020 Mountain View Drive.
The ceremony will include comments by Auburn Mayor Nancy Backus; the National Anthem sung by the Auburn Mountainview High School duet of Morgan Nyren and Taylor Liabraaten; a color guard presentation by Boy Scouts of America Troops 398, 401 and Pack 64; comments by Post Commander Frank Bannister VFW Post 1741 of Auburn; a rifle salute by the Inter-Tribal Warrior Society; and "Taps" by Dallin Campbell & Brett Anton.
The cemetery will display many American Flags on the grounds, and each veteran's gravesite is decorated with a small flag. The small American flags are donated by Auburn VFW Post 1741.

Saturday, May 23rd the scouts spent the morning cleaning gravestones and placing American flags at the cemetery.
